70 cm roses in Phuket: the length arrives in a box
A rose is cut at the length the plant gives. Nobody adds stem to a flower, so seventy centimetres means a variety bred for cutting, grown where it had the time and light to build a thick stem, and picked from a crop in which the long grades are the minority. Every rose on this island is imported, which puts a box and a flight between that crop and the order you place.
That is why the price climbs with each step up the scale. The long grades take more box volume per stem, travel in the same cold chain and occupy the same shelf, so two roses of identical variety and colour can differ in price with only length between them.
Inside a bunch the stems should match. If some are visibly shorter than the rest, that bunch was made up from leftovers, and a bouquet built from it sits unevenly however carefully it is tied. We open and check bunches on arrival for exactly this reason, since the correction has to happen before the build.
The box itself leaves marks worth reading. Long grades ride upright in tall cartons and come out thirsty, so the first job is a fresh cut and deep water, and heads that arrived already loose will not tighten again however long they stand.
Four things decide whether we can promise this grade on a given day.
- Which boxes landed that week. Long grades sell out first and do not reappear until the next shipment.
- Which colour you want. One clean colour at seventy centimetres is easier to promise than two shades standing together.
- How far the address is. Patong, Kata and Kamala share a window with Phuket Town, while a villa or a marina gets a slot of its own.
- When you tell us. A day is often enough, and a week is comfortable.
The addresses that shape the order
Along the west coast we deliver in 90 to 180 minutes, with separate windows for villas, marinas and airport routes. Patong, Kata, Karon, Kamala, Bang Tao and Surin run on that board. Rawai, Chalong and Mai Khao sit on it as well. A bouquet at this length travels upright with a wet base through all of it.
Villas are where the last stretch stops being a road. We ask about the gate and the walk to the door before the build, since a bouquet this long gets turned sideways at every narrow point and pays for it in outer petals.
Airport arrivals are the hardest slot for this grade. The flowers wait in the car with the base wet and the wrapping closed. We time the build so that wait stays short.
Monsoon showers from May to October change the plan more than heat does. On the hill roads in the evening we add route time instead of naming a slot we would miss.

Ask which variety carries this grade before you settle on a number, because 70 cm roses in Phuket depend on what came in rather than on what appears in a list. Tell us the date, the district, and whether height or colour is the part you cannot move. We will say plainly which week we can hold the grade for. If the date cannot move and the grade cannot be promised, a shorter stem in the colour you wanted is the better trade.
