Bouquets tied with ribbon in Phuket: leaves, water level and the knot
Strip the leaves off the lower third before the stems go in. A leaf left under water rots within a couple of days, clouds the vase and seals the cut, and it is the most common reason a bouquet fails early at home.
Warm air speeds all of that up. With humidity high and room temperature sitting where it does here, bacteria get a better start than they would in a cool climate, so the lower third of the stem matters more on this island than the advice usually implies.
Fill the vase about halfway rather than to the brim. Stems drink from the bottom few centimetres, and the rest of the submerged length only adds surface for bacteria to work on.

The ribbon can stay where it is. Most spiral built bundles hold their shape because of that knot, and untying it in a vase leaves a loose fan of stems with a gap in the middle. If the flowers should be spread out, cut them to different lengths instead of pulling the bundle apart.
What the format shows, and what it cannot hide
Nothing, which is the honest answer and cuts both ways. A buyer sees the true length of every stem and the state of every cut, and a shop working through a slow batch has nowhere to put it.
So there are three things worth looking at in a photograph before ordering. The base of the bundle, where the cuts should be pale rather than dark. The colour of the stems just above the cut. And whether the stems all run in the same direction like rope, which is what a spiral build looks like from the side.

There is less foliage in these builds than in wrapped ones, which is a consequence of the same honesty. Nothing needs covering at the base, and an extra leaf there only thickens the bundle where the eye goes first.
How it travels here
Along the west coast a delivery takes 90 to 180 minutes, covering Patong, Kata, Karon, Kamala, Bang Tao and Surin, with separate windows for villas, marinas and airport routes. Phuket Town, Rawai, Chalong and Mai Khao are sorted by the actual street.
