Add-on gifts: which ones survive the trip
Gifts get added to an order in the last thirty seconds, usually without much thought. Yet some of them ride in the same van as the bouquet and some cannot, and that is worth knowing before checkout rather than after.
One useful way to sort the category: by what a delivery run does to it.
Travels with the flowers, no conditions
Balloons, soft toys, cards, candles, sealed tea and coffee, packaged cosmetics. None of these mind the time in transit or the temperature in a vehicle, and a courier can hold the order for an hour while trying to reach the recipient.
Helium balloons deserve one note. Latex holds lift for roughly 8–12 hours, foil for several days. Ordering latex balloons a day ahead of a morning delivery achieves nothing — they are inflated on the day.
Needs conditions
Cakes, cupcakes, macarons, bento cakes. Confectionery travels in its own temperature regime and almost always inside a narrower delivery window. Buttercream behaves badly in heat in entirely predictable ways, which is why summer orders are pushed to morning slots.
Chocolate-dipped berries and fruit. These last hours at room temperature, not days. If the recipient is at work with no fridge nearby, choose something else.
Fresh fruit baskets. They travel well, but carry a non-obvious side effect: ripening fruit releases a gas that makes petals drop early. The basket should not sit next to the vase, and it is worth telling the recipient so.
The card does more work than people expect
An unsigned delivery puts the recipient in an awkward position: flowers have arrived and nobody knows from whom. Two lines settle it.
The message is written out by hand, so a long text has to be cut — a card holds three to five lines. Emoji and Latin script are not always transmitted cleanly to every city, and plain text is the safer choice.
Building a set that arrives intact
An order that works, in order:
1. Start with the bouquet — it determines the delivery window. 2. Add whatever ships in the same regime: balloons, a toy, a card. 3. Treat confectionery and berries as a separate decision, weighed against the weather and where the recipient will be. 4. Book bulky or heavy items early; they cannot always be carried in one trip alongside an armful of flowers.
Two things not to do
Do not attach anything perishable to a surprise delivery where the recipient is not expecting you. If they are out, a courier can leave flowers with a neighbour or at a reception desk. A cake in that situation cannot be saved.
Do not assume an oversized gift rides along. Large items are often delivered separately and in a different window, and it is better to confirm that at the time of ordering.
If you are sending a combined order to Antalya for the first time, ask what will physically travel in the same van. It is the only reliable way to know in advance whether everything arrives together or in two deliveries.
