Bouquets of 101 roses in Kemer
At this size a bouquet stops being a bouquet and becomes an object with dimensions. Over half a metre across, around seven kilograms with water in the stems, and impossible to hold in one hand. In a resort town that changes everything, because the handover almost never happens at home.
So the conversation starts with three questions rather than with variety or colour. Where does the handover happen, who carries it afterwards, and where does it stand an hour later.
The drive
Kemer Merkez and Kemer Marina take 60-120 minutes, and a large bouquet arrives in good shape. Beldibi, Göynük, Kiriş, Çamyuva and Tekirova take 2-4 hours, and that is where the mountain road enters the calculation.
Airflow does more damage to an armful than heat does. In an open vehicle, or with a window down, moving air works across the outer petals like a hairdryer, and an hour of that dries the edges. Orders this size travel closed, shaded and with water fixed to the stems.
A hundred and one roses will survive the drive. What they will not survive is a draught at speed.
Stem length follows the plan
Imported roses at 50-90 cm give a dense, compact armful that a person can actually hold and carry. Ecuadorian stems up to 120 cm give the effect people order this size for, but that is a two-handed object and almost always needs a floor vase.
In summer we talk customers out of maximum length for an outdoor handover. A Mediterranean climate with hot dry summers plus more leaf area means water leaves the stem faster. The same bouquet at 60 cm holds better and looks fresher on day two.
- Handover in a lobby or a function room: full length works, the flowers go straight into water.
- Handover on the promenade or by the beach: 50-60 cm, or the recipient fights it all evening.
- Gated hotels such as Maxx Royal Kemer Resort, Akra Kemer or NG Phaselis Bay: guest name as booked, room number, phone.
Where it stands afterwards
This is the question customers ask last and should ask first. A standard hotel room has no vase for a hundred and one roses, and often no floor space for a tall arrangement either.
Two things work. Either the bouquet is handed over for the moment and then split across several smaller containers in the room, which is normal practice and not a failure. Or you order a large basket arrangement instead: it stands on its own, holds water in foam, and asks nothing of anybody for the first few days.
What people order this size for
In Kemer it is mostly proposals by the water and anniversaries, with hotel arrivals a distant third. The count stays the same across all of them; what changes is the presentation. A proposal takes a clean single-variety bouquet. An arrival wants something that can be passed into a car without a rearrangement.
Delivery runs 9 AM to 10 PM, with payment by card, transfer or cash to the courier in TRY, and EUR or USD by arrangement. We ask for advance notice on orders this size: a hundred and one roses of one variety at one length comes out of a delivery, not off the shelf.
Two things to ask before paying
Ask which day the roses arrived. Then ask for a photograph of the finished bouquet before it leaves. At this price both are reasonable requests, and any shop that cares about its name will send the picture within a minute.
