### Spray rose bouquets in Bali: the bunch is not finished when it arrives On day one this bouquet looks thinner than a classic rose arrangement of the same stem count. Only the central buds are open, the side ones are still tight, and someone expecting a solid dome will spend the first evening slightly disappointed. By day three the side buds have caught up and the gaps close. Most recipients say the bunch peaks halfway through its life rather than on the day it was delivered. That is a real advantage for a gift sent to a villa where people are staying for a week or two, and it changes how we talk about the order: the question is not how it looks at the door, it is which evening you want it at its fullest. Cut the spent central bloom off at the base as soon as it goes soft. The side buds open faster once it is gone, and the whole bunch holds its shape for another few days. Everything else is ordinary cut flower routine. Change the water every second day, wash the vase while you are at it, take a fresh slice off each stem with a knife, and strip any leaf that would sit below the waterline. Done properly this gives the usual week of fresh cut life, sometimes more. Skipped for three days running in humid air, it gives brown edges on the outer petals and a stem that has stopped drinking. An old cut seals itself over, and the first bud to show it is the central one, which is the largest in the cluster and the hardest to miss. Pick a vase of medium height with a narrowish neck. Spray rose stems are thin and flexible, and in a wide opening they splay outwards until the clusters lean on each other and snap the small side shoots. #### Timing the delivery to the stay Distances here decide the slot rather than the flower. Seminyak, Canggu and Sanur fall inside a 90 to 150 minute window, while Uluwatu, Tabanan and remote villas take up to 3 to 4 hours, and we work from 9 AM to 10 PM. Four kinds of address cover almost all of these orders: - Villas in Seminyak, Canggu and Berawa, where the bouquet stands on a table for the length of someone's stay and the slow opening is the point. - Hotels in Nusa Dua and along the Legian and Kuta strip, which take the delivery at the property. - Wedding venues around Jimbaran, where spray roses fill between larger heads. - Dinners in Ubud, usually the tightest timing of the four, since the flowers have to be on the table before the guests are. Above 30 °C and in high humidity we use firm wrapping and a cooling element. The small heads handle the drive better than open peonies do, because there is less mass on each stalk, but the thin side shoots break against a box wall on a long run if the bunch is not secured properly. During the rainy season from November to March we move the far addresses to an earlier slot, since one window does not hold across the whole year. Send the recipient's phone number with the order.
